"The water has always been the place where my sensitivity takes shape. The ocean, especially, is where my perception expands and returns to me silence, depth, and direction. Painting the sea reflects itself as emotion, as a result of what I carry within me and not as a literal illustration. The sea is my movement and my expression. It appears in my works as gesture, as what needs to emerge. Sometimes calm, sometimes restless, but always as a reflection.
It is through it that my art organizes itself, that my series are born, and that my language becomes clear. The sea is the place I return to in order to remember who I am and where my creation begins. It is where I find my own waters and understand my feelings, and, by connecting with my works, each person also accesses their own waters."
[SERENO]
“Sereno” is an oceanic series created by Leka through oil paintings that translate inner emotional states into a blue gradient, inviting the viewer into contemplation. Waters inharmony that elevate the sensitivity of the self and of what one is. It is a process of surrender and connection, guided by the sounds of the piano, which opens the vertical channel of her spirituality and allows the work to materialize with authenticity and depth.“The encounter with our waters invite us to dive and swim alongside their oscillations, reaching an important emotional state, balance.”

O oceano me salva todos os dias. Me entrego e mergulho por completo. Ele vem e me atravessa. Sou encharcada por suas águas que ressoam meus olhos marejados. Descarrego o descarrego. Fluxo de água que corre em mim corre em ti. Aprendi no mar a sentir. Aprendi no mar a fluir. Junto com a maré venho e vou, mas assim como ela, me limpo do que não serve e continuo com o que ficou. Eu sinto. Eu sinto. Eu sinto. Sentir é legítimo. Sentir é precioso. E se todo dia precisar, nas minhas águas vou mergulhar, mas nunca afundar. Afundar em seu próprio oceano não é verídico: ele é seu.
