Urban Movement is a series of photos that captures the quick and busy pace of an urban life. Playing with long exposure techniques and intentional camera movement in the NY subways, Leka made the black and white photos go beyond regular pictures… becoming art that shows the city’s fast rhythm. Each photograph is a balance of light and shadow, where shapes and lines blend together, creating the feeling of the ongoing motion of a city in constant rush. The editing makes this feeling stronger, creating an interesting atmosphere that helps giving the pictures a dreamy look that makes us think differently about what we see, something more abstract.
“Urban Movement” isn’t just about photographs; it’s a strong statement on how fast we live today. In a world where we’re always in a rush and time is precious, these photos are a poetic reminder of the quick beauty around us that we often miss because we’re too busy. Through this series, Leka aims to show and critique the speedy life most people live, always in a hurry for everything, not being in the present moment or paying attention to their surrounds. These photos remind us to slow down.
